High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation Program
The General Education Development Exam (GED) and High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) are aligned with the state and national academic standards. These tests place emphasis on critical analysis, information processing, creative thinking and problem solving. Test content includes academic and technical skills needed for entering the workforce and for higher education.
Enrollment is open year round. Morning or evening classes are available. Students may arrange flexible study times to accommodate job, family and transportation needs.
Counseling and Student Support Services
Adult Education counselors will help you decide whether a High School Equivalency (GED or HISET) or a High School Diploma is best for you.
Counseling Hours: Monday-Thursday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. by appointment.
Registration for GED and HiSET Preparation Classes
Students must sign up for an orientation process and complete an assessment and placement. The class instructor will develop an individual study program based on the initial assessment. Students will have an opportunity to take several practice tests to ensure success on the Official Tests.

Classes are at NO COST to students as they funded by WIOA Title II or California Adult Education Program (CAEP). Students are required to take CASAS pre and post test to show outcome.
